Us vs. The Birds

This afternoon while Liberty was napping, we went out and cut down all the nice ripe cherries from the cherry tree in our back yard. Last year, the birds got to them before we could pick them and ate them ALL up until there was nothing left!!! So this year we were ready and mounted the "Operation Cherry Watch" campaign so that we could get those cherries before the birds got to them. I'm not kidding when I say that my husband has been out there checking that darn cherry tree every single day for the last 2 or 3 weeks, those poor birds didn't have a chance. Our mission was a success....we got a huge bowl full of perfectly ripe cherries, and the tree got pruned in the process...
