A girl and her snail....

This is Candy Cane...our pet snail. Liberty found him crawling on the sidewalk in front of Grammy & Papa's house one rainy day about a month ago and we brought him home and made him a part of the family.
He lives on the kitchen counter in the little cage that we got when we won the hermit crab at the fair last year.....unfortunately, the hermit crab only lived for about a week, but now at least Candy Cane has a nice house.

He likes to eat the little daisy flowers from the flowerbed in front of Grammy & Papa's house, so we bring him home some fresh food every few days. He's grown a LOT since we found him, he was only about the size of a dime when we first brought him home.
He's been a great pet so far...worth every penny *wink*

The Art & Wind Festival

Last Sunday, Lisa and Zachary came out from San Francisco and we all headed over to San Ramon for the Art & Wind Festival. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun....

Lisa pushed Liberty on the swing...

Liberty pushed daddy on the swing....

The kids had fun going down the slide....over and over and over again....

There were lots of cool kites flying...
And Lisa and the kiddos rode a cool little train....
Liberty entertained herself on the ride home...
And Zach crashed....

Our First A's Game of the Year....

I forgot to post these earlier, but we went to our first A's game of the season on May 10th. It was the Justin Duscherer (or however you spell that) bobblehead giveaway day and we had a blast! Liberty was a total champ all day, she got her face painted, bought a cool Stomper baseball and even got a couple A's tattoos. The A's lost (again) but we had good food and good times.

First beach trip of 2009

Last Sunday, the weather here in Fremont was unbearable...in the high 90's, YUCK! So we decided to beat the heat by escaping to Santa Cruz for the day. The weather was perfect there...in the high 70's and breezy. It was perfect! We had a fun day relaxing on the beach (well, actually, I relaxed while Liberty dragged her daddy into the water every two minutes) and then we went downtown for a slice at Pizza My Heart. It was a totally fun day.

Fremont Kite Festival

Last Saturday we went to the Fremont Kite Festival at Lake Elizabeth. The weather was hot...in the 90's-- so as you can imagine, there wasn't much wind which is kind of an important ingredient to kite flying. Liberty and her daddy and Grammy & Papa tried to get some kites up off the ground (but didn't succeed) then played some frisbee while I tried my hardest not to overheat.

Pants-less Cupcake Baking....

(Been almost a month since my last post.....yikes. Where does the time go?)
Liberty and I baked cupcakes this afternoon for no reason other than it's been raining and the mix was on sale at Safeway. We had fun (when I wasn't yelling at her to stop dipping her finger in the batter) and the kitchen wasn't too much of a disaster when we were done.

The cute homemade apron is from my friend Kisha.

Trying to escape with the frosting....
